I had a day spare today so decided to start on a mockup of a table I have been thinking of making. I have let my imagination run wild on this one.

Now I do have a problem with some of the joints....not in the MDF but for the real build.
Where the legs and supports for the top join the spine what does anyone reccomend? Each one is at an angle of 45 degrees to the spine. I was thinking along the lines of sliding dovetails but it may prove difficult with the angle of them. Spine will be made out of 2" thick Mahogany. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks. :?

I did find time in between jobs today to get some more work done. I fiddled about with the shape and adjusted the thickness. Once I was happy with the shape I commited myself to some real wood. After a couple of hours work I had ended up with this:

I am going to laminate the centre section where the legs and supports will meet so I can round and smooth everything to give some flowing lines to it.
