I've had an axe in my tool collection for .. well, i dont know how long. I dont even know when it first appeared in my tool box. I suspect it might have been mid 60's but thats a complete guess.

I havent ever used it in anger. Today i was so up to date on my projects that I did a little workshop tidying and rediscovered this axe.

Anyone know anything about it?
Its stamped ERKS
H98
1955.

Handle is very good with only minor denting damage, no worm or cracks.
blade has been hand sharpened at some time but not too much metal removed that it couldnt be put back right by an expert.
Any value? because if theres one thing sure now, I am never going to use it.

none today, its all locked up now. Almost certainly going to be English.
I had a quick look around and it seems that the first letter is missing and it might be a PERKS.
Not that that means anything to me at all. A quick surf gave me no details of a manufacturer

Having looked up firemans axe thats what I have. What I dont have is the faintest idea how i became its owner.

seems it could be worth £40.
