Looks very similar to the mock orange tree, but unsure how large it grows.
Wild guess though, nothing to back it up.

The other half went out so decided to chop a piece off and split it tonight, it cuts very easily even along the grain, it has rays from the centre out through the rings similar to oak. (The spalting is gonna be beautiful 
)

Is everyone agreed on sycamore then? Looking at Google images the bark is very similar to that on newer growth/branches of sycamore trees.
