I have a question for the green fingered woodies amongst us - I know its nothing to do with woodwork, but I got more replies a while back to a picture of some bugs than I did over a plank of Mahogany so I thought I'd give it a shot :)

A while back, a friend of mine found a plant in a Durham (I think) council flower bed and we've been trying to find out what it is - without any success at all

Can anyone tell me what the plant pictured below is called please

Recognised it.

Should have said Quaking Grass I suppose, it's the gentle trembling of the seed heads at the slightest disturbance that leads to it's popular name.
 
Just to be picky (my first job was at the now defunct Grasslands Research Institute :) ) that is almost certainly the large, garden form of Briza, which, not surprisingly has the specific name maxima, not media
 
Well, whichever variety it turns out to be, we're going to order some seeds :)

Correct Mick, though unfortunately, my mouth is quicker than my upstairs brain so I always find myself in a deep hole that needs filling
