With Westonbirt looming up over the horizon in a couple of weeks, I wonder if it's worth discussing some sort of ID for UKW members attending (which I'm fairly certain many intend to do) This was raised on the forum after the West Dean event a few weeks ago when there was someone there who I intended to see but didn't 'cos I didn't know what he looked like :( I for one will be sporting a fairly robust   Hawaiian shirt on the day, so ought to be fairly visable  ... Much as I detest :x sticky lapel labels, these might be the solution, emblazoned with your forum name.
Further thoughts? - Rob

Dark sunglasses, a red carnation and a rolled up BW or FC?

No seriously a good idea but what ? - it needs to be readily available?
I did not know I had spoken to Bugbear at West Dean until I saw his pic afterwards!

Rod :)

I'm not sure how Charley would view this, but perhaps you could print out this, then insert your name?

Excellent Ray

Mods if you're going to approve it can you make it Sticky (pun intended) so that it's there if we need it for other bashes.

btw I looked at the back of mine and it had a safety pin?

A self-tapping screw should hold it, Rob :)
Could use a couple of brads while the glue dries. :norm:

Ray,

Good idea, I have been thinking about this as well, it did involve The Slope TM, Gill posted a link to one of these:-

So armed with a print out

Of course I am not going to show you the other dozen or so that got discarded.
And here is a trail cut, along with the bits to make it into a badge of sorts:

That is cut on a bit of recycled gas fire surround that I think is mahogany.
Here is the basic setup:

I have been doing a little bit of a production run:

Quite a few from the gas fire surround a bit of oak fence post from the fire wood pile and padouk that should have turned into cuff links by now.

They have had one coat of oil and once the recess for the mount has been cut, its out with the epoxy. Final finish will be wax. I was making them for the Sudbury Bash but as it now looks like only being me and BugBear there may well be a few over. :(

Can't do that Paul...Ray hasn't put any screw holes (would they need to be countersunk  ) in the design  - Rob
