Not posted a project for a while so though I'd share this whimsy I made a week ago.
I'd seen a few wooden speaker stands on Instagram so thought I'd try my hand at making one more to see how well they worked as much as anything.
So starting with a 3 5/8" square blank 2 1/2" deep I turned the cone.
The slot for the iPhone was cut with the domino XL with 8mm bit using an angled cut going 15mm in at first & then deepening the cut in the centre into the top of the cone to let the sound through.
I'm really surprised how it increases the sound when you put he phone in, I'm guessing it's because it's directing the sound.
The Walnut was finished with sanding sealer & then microcrystalline wax.
