Ok hi everyone and a very merry Christmas to you all...

I'm a total noob here just finding my way around ... and have just returned from Axminster, Nuneaton with a shiny new Excalibur EX30.

Let me introduce myself

I'm a programmer from Derby - Martin irl with an uncanny resemblance to another Martin here ...
How I found my way here:
I have been looking for a hobby/skill that I could use to supplement my pension when I retire in 5 years.
Being a musician and guitar player I decided I wanted to build guitars, and whilst getting some tools together I realized I don't have room for a bandsaw, but someone suggested a scroll saw instead ....
So I looked into it and discovered the fascinating world of scrolling...
... An additional hobby/skill that could put me in good stead for my retirement...

So here I am, proud new owner of a new toy just waiting to try it out!:D

Again, Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi Martin and welcome to he forum. Nice to see you and I hope you will get lots of benefit from the infomation that members have on here.

That's a superb scollsaw you have bought, I woud love to have that one but the price is rather high for me, but if a 16 were to come around, I may take it up. Not done much scolling myself, but hope to improve on that next year

Have a great Christmas and New Year.

Hi Martin and welcome along to a terrific group of scrollers and I couldn't agree more than your quote above.

You will find lots of help here and no matter how dumb you think the question is, ask it anyway, as someone has probably already asked it . . . so you won't be the first ;-)

Have a wonderful Christmas then let the sawdust fly.

Barry

You will also find you make lots of new friends who introduce themselves with, "I wonder if" or "Could you just" or "I don't suppose" usually around Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, or various birthdays and anniversaries!!!
