You'll be luck to find a cutter large enough, even if your router would drive it. They're done with a commercial machine and cutter. You could do it on a good sized lathe - but it would be more trouble than it was worth.

How big are they?
If they're small, then one of the round routers bits.
If they're too big for that, possibly buy a cheap large spade bit and grind it to the desired shape?
If that's still too small, then some arcing router jig?
There is probably something horribly dangerous you can do with a mini circular saw too!

If it's to hold eggs, you don't necessarily need holes that large. You could just find a large round nose router bit

I think the key question is wether you're making a single instance for your kitchen, or wether you want to make them as a saleable craft item.
In the former case, I suggest drilling much of the waste with a suitable forstner bit (or two), then finishing with gouges; this would leave a visually interesting texture, and a good surface finish (if your gouges are sharp).
However, given how long this would take, no one (IMHO) would pay a profitable price for them as a commercial offering.

For a more accommodating fit of differing Egg sizes I would not have an inverted dome.
I would do a straight bore with a Fostner bit and Round out the top edge with a router bit.

Fasten a piece of 1/4" ply or mdf to the base of the router, then clamp the ply to the timber to hold the router still. Plunge at a suitable speed to a set depth (when depth is achieved pull up immediately to prevent unnecessary burning)
