I am clearing out the last of my Dad's furniture from the new place. I'd love to chuck it in the skip, but he want's 'at least something for it'.

So i'm going to eBay it. I have no idea how to describe it. Not even sure what wood it is.

Any ideas guys?

We have a bureau/bookcase combo in that style brought from Lexterten about 15 years ago.

I'd call it reproduction antique, the wood could be yew but not at all sure

Have a poke around here http://www.lexterten.com

Hmmm :-k
Bit like a dresser, rather than a bookcase - although the glass shelves also suggest a display cabinet,as obviously not intended to carry a great deal of weight.
Nice looking piece of furniture though, whatever it is classed as (far to good to chuck in the skip)

Sorry to disillusion you but there is very little 'real' wood in lexterten stuff (at least there wasn't much in the side board that I broke up and burnt). Nicely made and I was hoping to recycle much of it but once I'd looked at it more closely and did some dissection...well....you know.

You're right of course Roger, I knew at the time it was all veneered but the soon to be missus at the time insisted - she now knows better or course.
