How to wrap Noddy.

Noddy is due to go into storage for approx 2 years.
He's a late 1950's "Bendy Toy", but not the Sorbo type rubber, more a plastic material.
Should I use tissue paper, news paper, cloth, or bubble wrap?

Isn't this rubber notorious for "decaying " when wrapped up?
Summat about the fumes IIRC.

For a definative guide have a look at the plastics historical society plastiquarian.com/?page_id=14326

It is hard to identify which particular plastic early items are as they were not marked with the now universal symbols and many companies produced the same thing under different trade names.

An educated guess would be Polyvinyl chloride or Polyurethane foam

It is always a good idea to store plastics separately as the plasticisers can leak out and cause deterioration in other items.

It is a long time since I contacted the PHS but I found them a very helpful bunch

Instead of wrapping with the apparently inherent risks, could you box it surrounded loosely with an acid free paper? Might be more stable?
In fact, instead of wrapping Noddy, you would by definition be creating a...

Thanks for all the replies.
Noddy will be loosely wrapped in part of an old bed sheet, then placed in a shoe box.
Now just to wrap up the workshop tools...
Handy tip. Half fill the box, then try to lift it.. Easy lift, add more, no lift, remove bigger items.
Using Inter-locking Lid crates, then stacking is safely possible to greater height than cardboard, which will collapse in time.
