how much should i pay for an 8 year old record cl 2 wood lathe with supernova chuck?

Without being obtuse, Whatever you think its worth.
As a guide, a used chuck will cost 40 - 80 quid and a cl lathe anything from 50 to what? 200 quid maybe? dependent on condition, accessories etc.

i have been round to look today,the lathe is in very good condition.
he has offered me
1x lathe
1x supernova chuck inc extra jaws(never been used)
1x sip dust extractor
various assortment of chisels inc some robert sorby chisels
large amount of purchased wood blanks and 2 bottles of speed n eze
£450.00
what do you think

Look up the prices of the bits as new, a very rough guide would be 50% to 75% of new prices, but very subjective.....

Don't under estimate the value of the chuck, the additional jaws, the individual tools, and even the wood blanks, there can be a lot of value in those, easily as much or more than the lathe itself.

Bottom line is whether it's worth it to you of course !

I think that's a good price I have a Cl2 upgraded to 5 speed, bought it 6 months ago For £150 plus £100 for a record 3000 chuck & set of record chisels you have a lot more in your deal, I would wave in front of the seller £400 in cash and see if they well take it :?:
