I know, its kinda excessisive, but as said I do it for a living and I do run two set's. One for site and one for the workshop.

And I do have more than this, but I just had to stop.

It was 1.30am, just back from a night out and I was checking some ebay bids (oh no not more) and saw this thread and thought I would add me two penneth.

Please dont ask me to add the lot because at the other end of the scale it would finish with a mini digger I have in the field.

Tool Cleptomaniac would spring to mind 'but there all useful, I couldnt do without any of them'. how many of us tell ourselves that.

Now that you mention it, are the cables on power tools shorter than they used to be or is it my imagination, or a cost cutting exercise, or has H&S decided they are safer that way?

compared to others i feel like such a novice...i have just one dremel.

i use it for carving. everything else is powered with my own calories. and God knows that ive got plenty of those to use :roll: :shock:

When I served on International safety standards committees we decided that (medical equipment here) would be safer if the source to disconnect was reasonably close to the machine. 1.5 metres was considered a guide (not a requirement).

Main reason now is manufacturers buy the plug, lead and cable restraint(cord set its called) already made up. Machines are near identical and then sales point country decides which cord set is fitted.

Back to the thread - a relly visited the other week, he brought me an oldish metal bodied B&D drill; "do you want this, I never use it, bung it in the dustbin if not" . I was really chuffed with it :shock: :shock: Have three just the same. Count up just of drills -seems I have 12

SWMBO thinks I'm mad and who can argue
