Westerner joins Japanese housebuilding forum:

Westerner: "Hello? Yes, I would like to build a house in your fine country. Could you please tell me how many millions of yen I will need to spend on power tools?"

Japanese: "Power Tool? Not here mate!"

Excellent! Skills I can only dream of. At the end it says they were excerpts from a longer film - dont have a link to the whole thing by any chance do you Wizer?

Steve.

No sorry Steve that's all I found. I'd love to see the whole thing. (it was filmed the year I was born ;) )

At the end of the video he's making a locking joint and it's as if he is playing an ancient oriental instrument.

Excellent skills there, only wish that one day I could be half as good.

You do hear some power tools in the background in there ;)

Great post! That guy nailing the roof had a perfect rhythm.

Reminded me of happy times watching that Japanese demonstrator (Mr Morita?) who used to attend the Axminster woodworking show and build various constructions over the three days of the show. Watching him cut mortises and tenons was worth the entrance money alone.
