This Hot Air Engine was mine a few weeks ago.
I knew it was in need of a lot of TLC.

Plus it was badly worn.

After a bit of work I had it turning over, a lot clunky, but turning over.

Then, when it was in "steam" it seized and tore it self apart.
Not one part was left un-damaged.



So it was placed to one side and left.

This week I came back to her. Found out what was wrong, a lot and fixed it.
This image is when she is cooling down after a very good steam.

You can see a split, that was the difficult fix. But we did it.

In paint, the bearings were cleaned and re greased. The frames were brought back straight.

Piston assembly, cleaned, new O ring and the cylinder was honned.

She was a pig, but she lives again.
 
Brill, heard of them but know zilch about how they work, anything powered by hot air would be good for Government and all the other - sorry getting dangerous.
