Just a note to say that I bought some of these from Axminster and they arrived today. I've always struggled a bit with getting a razor edge on just my 6000 waterstone, and thought i'd give these a whirl.

Just rubbed a patch of each onto a scrap of MDF, and ran the blade over each a few times (green first, then white). Excellent results - razor sharp edge, with the back of my hand to prove it!

I even tried going straight from the 800 waterstone to the green then white soaps - results were just as impressive.

On a separate point, how do I get the above link to say "these" in blue??? Nice one Powertool - been wondering how you do that for ages!

Highly recommended.

Cheers

They certainly are good, Karl. I use a small felt wheel in the drill press to give the odd edge a buff. Great for carving tools, too.

I've been wondering about using a wax block I use on leather strops on the leather wheel on my Tormek, as it would be less messy than the paste. What do you think?
