Hitachi M12V

Has anyone any idea why my router an Hitachi M12V keeps cutting out? It is mounted in a table and I recently blew out all the dust as I thought it was overheating. Unfortunately it is still cutting out. It will run fine for a while and then suddenly just runs down?? Anyone had this problem before? Thanks.

how old is it?? are the brushes knackered or not??

might be a loose wire inside that once it gets hot will move away.

It is a few years old, bought it second hand. I have checked the brushes and they are fine. I will have to get the tester on it and check the wires. I did try wiggling the mains cord to see if it was a break in this but didn't find anything.

The variable speed dial can be the cause of this. Not only on the Hitachi either.

That's whats worrying me. If it is the speed dial that means it is the electronic module and One for the Elu is over £80! At that sort of cost I may as well buy a new one.
