Hello,
I've got a unit to build and I'm wanting bifolding doors.
The two large doors to the right I would like them to open as a bi folding corner door. For storage of the hoover etc. Theres a boiler built into the alcove so I'm wanting to get best use of the space and the only way of getting stuff into the space would be through a corner door arrangement. the door to the left of the corner measures 275mm x 1900 mm the door to the far right (not coloured in) measures 500mm wide by 1900mm tall
It may be an option to hinge each door in the corner part so that both open from the corner? maybe the smaller overlapping the larger?
The four smaller doors will house a TV + speakers for a media centre. I'm wanting both side to fold back so I can watch the TV. The doors measure 275mm x 1100mm each
Looking at the smaller doors, would it be possible to use these http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp++c3410 to join each pair and use maybe 3 of these too take the weight on the face frame? I'd need to use cruciforms with these as they are inset doors http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+hardware-k ... um+m_c3406
I'm making the carcase out of 18mm MR MDF.
I usually make the face frame and door out of MDF but I may have to use real wood (no problem, just more expensive) depending on the hinge selection.
I usually use 35mm blum euro hinges but I'm open to suggestions. I'm concious of the weight of the doors, particularly the larger doors on the right which will be around.
Here's a picture, hopefully it will explain better than I ever could.
Thanks
