Hi Guys,
i´m new on the forum and i tought introduce myself in a new community was the right thing to do..my name is Mauro,i'm 29 and i'm a furnituremaker and a carpenter in Sweden,i'm actually Italian but i moved to Sweden 4 years ago;i learnt my trade in a 5 year apprenticeship in a small furniture shop in Italy,,after i moved to sweden and i did 2 years of school specialized in swedish furniture reproduction were i learned carving marquetry and woodturning, after that i did a 1 year of Traslojd school, for learning traditional swedish woodenware, and i worked around as door and windows maker and restorer and a little as carpenter;thanks to a national scholarship i´m now studying only woodcarving for one year in a school in south Sweden,i hope to hone my skill as woodcarver as much as i can..after the summer i´m actually planning to move to England or Scotland to work in some shop and i received few positive answer already,so i hope i will be able to work there and a little by little to build my workshop and start to work on my own.. i'm sure i will find in this forum a resource of valid info and professional people for exchange of ideas and suggestion.....Cheers Guys!

It was ok when I lived there but it was about 12 years ago so I've forgotten most of it (except the swear words obviously!) I was doing tree work for a company called trädmästarna.

hi again woodmonkey,so you are a arborist, did i understood well?did you like leave in Sweden?i heard the company you worked for before..

Welcome Mauro . good to have you here. Lots of very friendly folks with lots of answers to questions or tips for easier work. Then there is me , your jolly jester from the wilds of Canada. Looked at your work and have come to the conclusion that you know your stuff . Looking forward to learning from you (carving is a skill I lust after).Come by the hand tools arena and peruse while we amuse and confuse... that's why it's such fun.

hi Lanemaux, thank you for your nice words,i´m sure there is always something that we can learn from each other,in woodworking a person can´t never stop to learn and think that he knows everything, even at 60 i would feel that i have still something more to learn,i ´m sure we will have a lot of fun here.. :D
