One could be excused for assuming that any question related to the wonderful Kity 419 had already been asked and sorted!! Well I need help and for the benefit of others who may follow, I will explain.

My well loved and very HARD working saw started to get nosier as time passed, then one day the motor turned but the blade didn’t, on inspection it was the belt that had slipped off both pulleys, at first I thought the belt was in need of tensioning so decided to do a service at the same time. It was when I was replacing the belt that I noticed the large pulley on the motor shaft had a lot of play and that this was throwing the belt off, I took the pulley off the motor shaft and was amazed at what I found, the feather key had been worn to half it’s size, the motor shaft had worn away sideways where it was in contact with the key and the hole in the centre of the plastic pulley was anything but a round 19mm.

I think I can get a new keyway cut in the motor shaft (20mm x 6mm x 6mm) but have no idea how to source a new pulley wheel, any leg up on this would be greatly appreciated.

The moral of this sorry story is that the saw has NOT been well loved at all.
As soon as any machine starts making more or a different noise, STOP, INVESTIGATE and FIX.
You now have serious damage to sort out.
Fit a new taper lock pulley and go ahead with a new key way in the motor shaft on the other side.
Consider new motor bearings while you have it apart.

Do you have a supplier in mind for the taper lock pulley 'Myfordman'?

Absolutely standard part. Google for details any bearing and belt supplier will have them. You need a matching bush and pulley to suit the motor shaft and the original pulley size and profile. Poss will be spa or spz type.

I have just received a 1610-24 Dunlop "Taperlock" bush and a 100/1 pulley from Engineers Mate on eBay - £10.54 all in.
The generic designations are very simple to interpret:
- The Taperlock is a size 1610, bored to suit a 24mm shaft.
- The pulley has a pitch diameter of 100mm, with one groove to take a single belt.

Whatever you do, make sure you follow the correct sequence of tightening and loosening, or the bush may break across the narrowest point.
Check that all is secure a few running hours after fitting the bush and pulley, and occasionally thereafter.
