First of all can I say what a useful forum this is, just about to kit out my new workshop so thought would share and see if anybody had any useful advice.

Spent last summer knocking down a rather rickety old shed at the bottom of my garden and since replaced with a brick built outbuilding with proper roof. Though I am very young, and not quite 6 visits off retirement as somebodies sign off jokes about on here I am in to all things old and wanted to learn somethign creative to add to what I do at the moment. You see my job is far from practical and it as caused a few laughs among my friends and family when I said that I would do all this.

I think now I may have gone a little overboard with the shed mind, I have never done any kind of building before but somehow managed to pull together a few reclaimed bricks and created something useful. I must say that my other half already thinks I am mad, but some people just don't seem to understand.

I will post some pics of the shed up tomorrow

This week I will be lining the pockets of some tool shops to purchase a TS 2010 to keep in there along with a a PT too, though not sure which yet. Then the masterplan will begin to build some kitchen units and furniture for the gaff. I think I shall post progress on here too as will be amusing to share the devlopment of a master craftsmans skills from nothing, er hum.

Welcome G, looking forward to the pictures - they'll all eat their words when you produce the first kitchen cupboard

Just testing this picture posting out, so hopeful.

After a bit of effort learning about bricklaying, and roofing, this was the end result. Only problem is a not huge for the table saw and the p/t, but does the job.

Whoa - smarter than the average shed :)

Looks like it will be a great place to spend some quality time with your new tools!
