Well, I can hang my head in shame, but I bent one of the hydraulic piston rods....
Any tips on how to unscrew the rod from the piston. It is on tight enough that I can not get it off.
I want to make sure that I don't damage the piston if I clamp it down.

Also, any tips on how to align the back riser to the vertical crank handle?
I had to clean out 60 years of crud, so I took the back off. Upon reassembly, the crank handle sticks in spots when raising the column.

Thank you
Bill Kirkland (ottawa, On, Canada).
Cheers.

Well folks, so far know one has been able to help with the 3/8 rod removal, so I cut the rod off and drilled it out. Now to manufacture a new piston rod. Threads are 3/8-20 BSF.
Too bad I live in Canada, but I have ordered to 3/8 tap/dies.
I did thread a rod yesterday and on the final pass the lathe would not drop out of thread drive and I crashed the carriage into the head stock. Only beat up the carbide tool bit.

Off to the hardware store to pick up some more 3/8 rods....
