A while back I rescued a couple of badly rusted machines - a planer and a thicknesser.
One was merely neglected and had some quite bad pitting on the rblock, the other vendor had started a rather harsh "restoration" including, I think, use of an angle grinder.
The result is that the corrugated roller in the planer is not even, and the knife blocks lack a uniform reference surface to set them parallel to and assist in setting the knives.
I've managed around this for a while, but I'd really like to sort it out.
Would any kind member be willing to skim true on a metal lathe? I'd sort carriage and reward in a format of your choosing. I've failed to find a commercial service to do it at less than the cost of a replacement machine.
Thanksjohn
