My name is Collin and I have been registered (thanks CHJ!) but lurking for a few weeks.
I am South Coast Based, just outside Portsmouth.
Thought I had better say hi to all and show off a couple of bowls, one finished and one rough turned ( and now drying).
I have a 1960s Coronet Elf, I have just bought a Sorby Patriot (due to the inserts for when I upgrade) and received a Sorby 447 grinding jig for my birthday. Thanks Mum and Dad!!
I have done a few pens, a few bowls and my favourite thing at the moment, six goblets of varying size and style. I made a lidded pot for the July and completely forgot to post it! I will dig the photos out and post them at some point.
I have only been turning a couple of months having inherited the kit from my Dad when they downsized to a small bungalow. Definitely hooked, I have already started saving to upgrade the lathe having found limitations in the capacity and hating the single bar bed and tail stock mechanism.
I look forward to getting more involved in this fab community and hope y'all don't get fed up with inane and stupid questions! Yes, I know the search function and use it regularly!
All the best for now
