Hello, thanks is for adding me into the group.

I'm a landscape gardener, been running my small business for nearly 20 years now. My woodwork experience really only extends to fencing, decking, and few custom pergolas.

It's now time to start making stuff for inside.....wish me luck.

I wish you not just luck but the good variety!

Funnily enough I find myself going the other way - from cabinet-making of indoor furniture to things that have more of the carpenter about them. Currently I draw the line at Big Things, especially in the garden but ..... . Just now a local carpenter has just finished making (from scratch) a large fence, a large pergola, a sitting shed and a garden gate. I did once make a small garden gate framed by a very simple pergola but lack the joints (mine, not the woodworking) to go clambering about up them Big Things. The rot of ages, eh!?

Still, I have a list of smaller garden things to make, from cold frames to a fancy bird feeding house. Perhaps also some outdoor carved things such as the traditional green man (and a woman, why not) to adorn the new sitting shed.

Do you have an inside-making list?

Looks like you have a lovely spot there, great views I imagine.

For now I'm planning on two side tables, a dining table for the kitchen, and shoe/boot rack. All oak tips with steel welded frames.

Then it's onto making some chairs and occasion pieces. These will all be upholstered items on hardwood frames....how to make them I'm not yer sure.
