HELLO FROM SOUTH WALES EVERYBODY!!!

Hi everyone, my names Jamie,
I’m from south wales.
To cut a long story short, i used to be a very successful tradesman 3 years ago until meningitis took a big dump on that.
Thankfully I am in recovery and still retain my physical functions. I have some great tools a large area to work in and set up a workshop But I am completely lost and under educated in almost every aspect.
I really need mentoring and steering in the right direction.
I lack really fundamental things but at the same time I can achieve reasonably technical tasks…………..I think!!

I’ve done the staircase from scratch because my brother wanted deeper steps…….I’ve jointed the stringers from 2 pieces and jointed the steps, it’s a bit rough but there’s no creaks, they are all the same size and considering I’ve never done it before I’m satisfied!

Any tips on getting the new pine to look golden and aged like the newel posts will be please?

Also I’ve come across an old door frame which I’ve learned (the hard way) is west African Albizia any thoughts on anything I could make from it for a good practice/project please? it’s beautiful and I don’t want to use it for something crap like more handles
