I have a large capacity machineshop in Essex and make cast iron English wheels and very big bench vices.
My main thing is I’m a machine hoarder and really not well with it…
I’m a apprentice trained machine rebuilder and scraper so I might be useful for and machine repair questions

would be good for you to show us some pics of your workshop and the machines you are interested in.
You may well be of assistance, but you will also find a wealth of experience here that training alone may not provide.

You can see some machinery in these. Gear cutter is from the old days when we did a lot of machinery rebuilding and it was quicker to make gears in house

The big swift lathe was used to repair power press cranks but those days are long gone
I’ve still got o commission the planer as soon as I have time

It used to be such a pleasure to go into sheds/yards such as yours and see things being made & repaired.
The closure of the yard nearby on the island was a great loss.

Thanks. There’s not many machine rebuilders/manufacturers left and I’m really only continuing out of pig headed behaviour
