What a day I have had! I couldn't enlist the help of the owner of the kitchen fit I am doing as he is a she, and had to heave the 3mtr worktops about today! As Mel will attest I am only slightly built so this was no mean feat! I managed to get all three cut and positioned ready for fitting tomorrow luckily and didn't over stress my back I am glad to say. Shouldn't complain really as the fit is going well and after the worktops it is on to the wall units and then doors on, Yipeee! It is hard work fitting kitchens but I still enjoy it, guess I must be a sucker for punishment. Anyway when I returned home my wife informed me that the new washing machine that arrived today was leaking all over the kitchen! Sure enough the kitchen was flooded and the machine stood idle full of water. No rest for the wicked i guess so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work! It appears that the water is issuing from the waste pipe where the hose pushes into it. I cut the pipe down a little shorter and re inserted the hose and am now trying it with fingers crossed. Meanwhile I am mopping up the kitchen while the wife is at her dancing classes! I did take a holiday from work this week so I could fit the kitchen and then relax during the evening but as they say 'Best laid plans, ETC' Oh well at least the kitchen fit will pay for the new washing machine. ( OK rant over now back to normal, better go and watch the machine when it spins. BFN.

Aw, bu*%*er, I wish I had known Mel, thanks for the offer but they are done now. Anyway will have to have a get together again sometime soon mate. Still having problems with this washing machine though, looks like the waste pipe might be blocked, will have a look tomorrow. Kitchen resembles a swimming pool at the moment!!

just as a quick note, you didn't fit a new push on drain to your waste system did you, becuase remember these are sealed and needs the ends cutting off

No but thanks Serge I did check that. I had to cut off the end to form the hool shape into the waste pipe. It is fine now though. :)
