Wondering why I spent £280 on a Sony digital recorder last week.
I can watch previous BBC tv broadcasted the last 7 days & also save to harddrive if wanted for upto 30 days.

There are also other tv commercial channels available on the web.

ITV and Channel 4 also offer this service - can be handy.
My annoyance is I have a BT Vision box which should be able to play this catch up TV through my TV (since it's hooked up to the broadband router). But there's limited availability through it and a lot of stuff is charged even though it's free online - arghh!!
Cheers

Don't get me started, please....harrumph....breaking the terms of their charter....harrumph.....no support for Linux....no support for Mac...

Well it says I cannot watch because I am not in the UK.
How am I going to fool them into thinking I am in the UK?

You can get BBC radio too. I listned to Wogan's "Janet and John" episode this afternoon after someone at work told me about it...hilarious.
