I still don't know where these are made for certain?
Yes there is a load of substandard / poor quality stuff that comes in from asia but just as important is the who is supplying it. I tread extremely cautiously with Banggood and Ali express because although there might be some good stuff it is hidden amongst some not so good stuff but you cannot say all stuff made in asia is sub standard. So the question is, is the quality to my liking or requirement rather than where it was made as this can only give some perception but most important is who you are buying from. If banggood then taking a chance but from a reputable business there is no gamble because they have already addressed quality and have a good returns policy if not to ones liking. This has been talked about before on these forums, many asian countries can produce quality far better than us and if you look into say China's history they were masters of metalwork centuries before us so they have the capability, the question has always been are we willing to pay for it.

Taiwan is basically streets ahead in metal manufacture. China is variable but with areas of speciality. Those planes are very obviously "designed" by westerners(albeit aussies). Good or bad is hard to know until there used for a spell. The price makes them decent users and I'd expect them to used. Much of the high end stuff is never used which is virtual death for any tool in my estimation.
