Definitely. I am bringing Steve Maskrey so we can have a Northeners UKW meet up.

Any suggestions of where and when to meet?

Ed

Looking forward to it. I've no suggestions on a meeting place though.

H,mmmmm you might be a tad disappointed imho, more junk tool sellers this year, more power tool sellers (how many battery drills can you see in a day)

Less demo stands. Certainly not as good as previous years. A shame as it's been a decent show over the years.

On the bright side some very nice quality work on display from the various clubs etc.

You could meet at the Leeds College of Art stand. There are even some chairs there where you could park your weary *****... and the guy that's in charge of the stand is usually quite generous about letting you get you horny handed paws on the displayed work and turns a blind eye to unfavourably critical assessments of the student work. Slainte.

good suggestion Richard.

How about 12:00 at the Leeds College of Art stand?

Ed

That sounds like a good plan. I've just spoke to Jonny and were all set for tomorrow. See you there chaps.

I'll be there chaps, sporting my UKW badge, slaphead freshly shaven, keep your eyes peeled for me :D

See if you can drag Brad along with you.. he muttered something about taking his lad to a b'day party.. i'm sure he'd rather buy tools.

I think he was thinking about it as he asked whether I was going over in the car or train, but I've got a carfull unfortunately (got the inlaws with us this weekend) or I would have gladly squeezed his genteel frame in with me. ;)

Back from Harrogate with mixed feelings.

Was really good to meet up and chat with Steve, Matty, Jonny D and Richard.

However, on the whole too much woodturning for my liking and jumble sale style tat tool stands. Only thing I bought was pie and chips (which was a bit overpriced but satisfactory)

I think Jonny and Matt may have shoved me off the edge of a Festool Domino precipice, so am now on the look out for a deal, if such a thing exists...

I have actually got a lathe but its the proper type (for metalworking - making useful stuff) not for this woodturning nonsense. I mean, how many fruit bowls and candlesticks are you going to need?

On the Domino front my forecast is for a high probability of purchase in the near future...

thats a contradiction in terms, you need to buy a propper lathe rather than one of those silly metal things ;)

I've been to the edge of the abyss and had a good peer over the edge, but I haven't jumped......
