Those oils are simply not suitable. Maybe try the stupidly expensive textrol
Is the alternative just to sand and leave natural? Does it really need a finish? Those oils are simply not suitable. Maybe try the stupidly expensive textrol
Just done a bit more research and Textrol shouldn't be applied to new wood without their primer. Unfortunately, the primer shouldn't be applied to oakThose oils are simply not suitable. Maybe try the stupidly expensive textrol
If left natural, how much would you expect it to expand and contract through t the year? Would it be appropriate to leave an external oak door unfinished, or would it end up jammed in the winter and drafty as heck in the summer? Is the alternative just to sand and leave natural? Talked to the sawmill today and they advise sanding and no finish to let the wood expand and contract as it likes. I guess any shakes will add to its character. Don't think that approach would work on a door but on an 8 inch square post should be ok.If left natural, how much would you expect it to expand and contract through t the year?
