HARD WAX OIL???

Hi,
The wife has bought a second hand chest of drawers second hand, they are in good condition and made from Oak.
She wants to lightly sand them down and renovate and protect them.
Would you use a hard wax oil after sanding or some other product?
An idea as to which brand to buy would also help.

Hard wax oil might be best if you can get all the finish off, if you can’t maybe just use a wax, does depend on what sort of look you are after and how tough you need it to be

Im a big fan of OSMO PolyX as a hard wax finish,

I like Osmo too, favour the top oil these days

I have used Blanchon and Fiddes hard wax oils in the past but neither are as durable as Osmo in my experience.

I tend to use Treetex HWO if I have a choice, the oak vanity tops I did for myself over 10 years ago still look excellent.
