Hand planing thin wood

Personally, I'd use one of these

Well, I have a couple lying around......

but a sanded finish doesn't compare to hand planing :wink:

If you are into making coffin sized boxes my method won't work!
I built myself a 24 inch plane with a very long toe so that the wood is held down at all times, seems to work for me okay.

I know what you mean. When I go they can stick me in a cardboard box before putting me in the oven (Gas mark 6, 250 F , twenty mins), it's not as if i'll know the difference is it? :lol:
