Well, it's sort of woodwork. 220Kg of Startrite Tsaw, strung up by 2 retired mainsheets (one for the sailors) to a structural beam in the workshop roof. I originally did the sums on the roof and reckoned it would take this easily. Sorry, shaky shot off the phone again - it isn't the phone, just that whenever I need a pic with it I am either knackered or really nervous (both here):

So a bottle-jack under back of trailer, unhitch, then lower back of trailer using jockey-wheel to raise front, til the saw is swinging. Pallet truck under, packing bits, lower via ropes...
See you all on the other side :shock:

Indeed Skills, (pickies etc) but I didn't see patience at all... blind stubbornness, determination, a risk-appetite.
I am planning a mini-review of this beast once it is tuned and sorted - my 3rd Startrite in about 4 weeks. And here is where it stops, promise.

Beam calc's pallet truck rope system - thats patience, wally here would tied it to the back of the workshop and got somebody to slowly inch the trailer forward while inserting/building packing as it come off. Or something like that

Yes Steve, that needs explaining. It started with the 352 Bandsaw, then someone here came forward with a PT260. At that point I knew I had to get the set. Hence the Tsaw. All done now. Green, solid, simple, sensible... and 'Made in England'. There are some here will be calling me a collector :lol:

Did the calculations include the weight of the tiles etc those beams were already carrying? Personally I would have put some support in the shape of an upright under that beam, this time you were lucky.

Andy - re morticers I don't know, and best not find out I do intend to stop now, honest.
Re the beams, I designed and built the roof originally, the loft-style platforms were intended to store timber stock and will easily take a ton plus (distributed of course), but horizontals are tied vertically up to 10 x 3 runners going front to back etc. - it was designed to easily take the 4 tons of clay tiles also. Also there were 4 bits of strings each point load around 60Kg say. I was more concerned about my knots :lol:
Anyway it's in and running - will order a decent blade today. A couple of minor tune-ups required but really fussy and minor. It's a beauty!!
