I am very happy I found this forum. I am not strictly a cabinet maker, but a furniture designer, with a large portfolio of regular clients, mainly in London. I have been based on East/West Sussex border for over 10 years, previously in London and Scotland.
I have been designing and specifying bespoke, mainly fitted furniture for a number of years. I have always subcontracted all the fabricating of all furniture to a couple of workshops up North.
For quite some time now I have been thinking about an opportunity to set up a business partnership with a Sussex/Kent or Surrey based cabinet maker to deliver quality projects for my London projects. I have no experience (or desire) to run a workshop, but I have plenty of work coming, good grasp of business and accounts (I trained as a lawyer and a tax specialist in my previous life) and I am pretty good in sales. I really would love to find a business partner/partners, a talented cabinet maker/makers who is/are fantastic at making furniture. I imagine this would be someone who has just set up or is planning a new start-up and would love to ensure a good stream of work and help with running a business (I have over 20 years experience in business) to share in good quality and profitable work. I have a confirmed projects worth over £150K to be made before the Summer with more in the pipeline, have reliable fitting team in London, Van and tools.
