I have the tormek nearly a year, and one thing I noticed when changing the bevel on plane blades (A2 Veritas) the stone cuts very effective for a short while, but tends to glaze, requiring often use of the reactivating stone or even using the diamond cutting tool to expose a fresh stone surface.
The reactivating stone itself seems to loose its edge aswell, getting pretty smooth.
When grinding chisels, the problem does not occur, or is less dramatic.
Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?
Sincerely, Duncan
