I think i changed the frame rate on my camera. Not had the same results since so all good.

Nope, led lights actually but frame rate i think is the key for filming.

Fairy Nuff - and you are quite right; An old incandescent bulb was kept constantly hot and gave a constant light. Other technologies are constant flashes (?50Hz) and though the human eye can't detect it, that gives rise to interference patterns if you use another flickering medium such as film (real or digital).
