Hi Folks,
I know its not that cheap and it only does through dovetails. But if you dont mind spending £200. And you want a truly simple system.

Found this on you tube whilst looking for a dovetail jig. I had already bought an axminster one and didnt like it. The guy shows you how to make a set of dovetails in under 5 minutes and it really is that simple.

There is only one company in the uk sell them and they changed the template for me as i wanted heavier dovetails. Used it a few times now and it is fantastic. Had one problem not the jigs fault. I prepared timber down to 18mm and left it cooking in my shed for a couple of weeks. Big mistake boards had capped and although i clamped it onto the jig it still was not perfect. Will leave them rough sawn next time!

Truly amazing jig.

Cheers

Seems very expensive for a fixed spacing jig. These jigs only work with particular selections of timber widths so you have to design round the jig.

For similar money you could get a leigh and have all the adjustability that box making needs.

I agree with Bob,its a ludicrouse price for just a D template and nearly £60 for additional templates,as bob said you could have had the leigh wich does far more.

I have one too and whilst not the most flexible jig available, if it does the job you want it would be difficult to beat for speed and simplicity.

The thing is its plain stupid to buy the complete unit at £200 when they're selling the combs for £60 and you can knock the rest up yourself for less than £15

Tht unit should at least have a built on clamp as there is provision for one.
