They are the only ones still making good 'german' benches.

All the rest are 2nd rate, except perhaps for the bigger benches from DIEFENBACH ( http://www.hobelbaenke.com/meisterbaenke.htm# ).

I myself have an old ULMIA with the unique triple guided (2 screws and one plunge bar) front vise... 140KG 'aint movin nowhere'.

When at 'school' I use one of these

from SJOEBERG. It is 'modern' (round dogs), but it has a really cool (and SOLID) holdown system. It really outshines the 'new' ULMIA ( http://www.ulmia.de/Deutsch/Downloads/03.PDF ) that is beside it.

I know what your saying Alan, I realised I'd have to build my own to get what I wanted as the "advertised" woodwork industry gadget ones are usually flimsy and the vices are rubbish.
Its amazing that in france and germany they still have a clear idea of what a bench is and how they prefer to build its features etc, yet in Uk its all sort of hazy.
I have just about completed a tempory framing bench to use for cutting a timber frame work shedin the next few weeks and months 140 sq ft. I used 6x4 and 4x3 and 6x2's all pegged up mortice and tenons. I could use it as a bomb shelter I think  I got a record vice 52ed from a car boot at redcar races, it was encased in grease oil and saw dust, bargain for £4, but its not heavy enough, I'm going to put in a leg vice with a 1 1/2" bench screw made of beech. I go to collect 2 massive holdfstas tomorow from local blakcsmith and will install an oak planing stop Pictures soon i hope i can sort that as well :?
cheers Mr Spanton :D
