Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help regarding my "up and over" garage door.

I have just recently insulated it with 30mm Celeotex so with that very slight extra weight the door started to sag a little more with the extra weight.

This morning I decided to add a little extra tension to the spring to compensate for this and even watched it on Youtube as there was a clip on how to do it and looked fairly easy.

I tensioned the spring a little and it was just about there when I tried it so I thought I would just tweak it a little more with a few more turns on the spring to tighten it a little more, then of course my spanner slipped, and boy did it go with a bang!

Anyway this took all the tension out of the spring so I had to start from scratch re-tensioning it, however the trouble now is even though theres quite abit tension back on the spring, more than was on it actually to start with, the door is literally a dead weight to lift, and theres no help whatsoever from the spring?

Everything else seems O.K. as in the rollers in the guides etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Phil

Are the cables wound the right way/ not binding/ on the pulleys properly...?

Pulleys. guides, cones and cables are all fine, that's why it's basically is baffling me!
