I've been looking for a few months to no avail for a large amount of 42mm galvanised pipe/tube.

I'm looking for 600 foot. If anyone can help or knows of someone who may have a load they want to sell off, please get in touch.

Regards

600 foot of 42 mm?
Are you re piping kew gardens?
Are you a mill yonaire rodney?

Seriously, have you considered plastic?

Thanks Naz for posting that link it's just saved me a lot of searching, I need to install a industrial looking clothes rail in a bedroom alcove. That stuff fits the bill perfectly

The reason for so much is that I want to replace the second lot of rotten timbers in my chicken pen!

I have replaced the tantalised timbers twice now, and I feel the quality of tantalised timber in the U.K.
has gone down hill and so decided to replace it with galvanised pipe.

I have hundreds of 42mm key clamps but just need 600 foot of 42mm to go with them.

Plastic would be no good!

I have been looking for ages on flee bay but to no avail.

Ideally someone with a wod of second hand 42mm would be ideal???

If that person is YOU, then please get in touch!

Regards

could you use scaffold poles? Readily available, cheap second hand, as are the fittings.

I think scaffold might be 48mm O/D

At the price that 42 mm galvanised is going to come to, you could replace the wood every year for twenty years and still be quids in.

you need to find a building reclamation company, they strip old factories for scrap before knocking them down. Or even troll through the scrap yards direct.

600 ft comes to 181 metres
comes to 83 pieces on that ad.
at £15 per 2 pieces, that works to £125.00

Thats do able I think.

The ad was for TWO pieces, not one.

Dont blame my calculator.

But then again, I've had a tiffin break so who knows?

Dont know where you would get some 2nd hand but you are looking for 11/4" (32mm) nominal bore galvanised steel tube to EN10255 (formerly BS1387) - The normal grades we use would be medium grade (blue band) or heavy grade (red band). Trying to find it 2nd hand may be difficult. To buy new or get a price look for a local pipe merchant such as BSS or Pipeline Center - both of which have branches throughout the UK. Normally its sold in 6m lengths with either plain ends or screwed and socketed ends. I would think Medium Grade would be best - take a clamp along and try it, they might not have galvanised in stock but they should have varnished plain stuff you could check the fit with your clamps on.

My dad's well on his way to starting one too  I tell him when he dies I've got the local scrappy on speed dial
