Hi folks,

Dont know if its been reviewed before. But just used my new set of freud panel door cutters. Not the ones for kitchen cabinet doors but the heavier ones for heavier exterior or interior doors.
I used them with a heavy duty freud router on a makita table. Made up a jig for the scribing and was very very impressed.

Sent to usa for the cutters and a panel raising bit. Comes with a cracking dvd. Tried it out on a gate with 3 raised panels and it is superb. Think i paid about £100 for the set.

For the beginner the dvd is brilliant and goes through set up step by step.

A great feature is the scribed cutter. For the through mortice you keep the same height setting and screw the the top of leaving the bottom cutter and you get results that you would expect to find on a tenoner machine.

So any questions let me know.

Cheers

Can you provide a link to the cutters (model nbr, etc.) that you are referring to as I've never seen Freud (full size) cutters even for $200 (assuming GBP:USD at 1:2)

Best to check them out on the freud usa website. They have at least 4 sets.
I bought mine on ebay. Had to pay about £30 custom charges.

Made a gate for my Mother. All stained up now and fitted will try and get a couple of pics. Always looks better before staining though, you can see the joints better. Will be making other projects will see what i can do for some pics though.

Ah Ebay - that explains the cost. Obviously the normal cost is a great deal more.
