French Wrench

I bought this Wrench in a French vide grenier, for 8 euros. I have never seen one like it before. Does anyone know what it is called or what it is used for?

It could be a pipe wrench or maybe some tool for crushing snails !!

Any better quality pics? Its hard to see detail. If the inside of the curved bit is sharp then some kind of pipe or cable cutter that gets rotated around cutting as it goes.
