Hi, newbie here...enjoying the forum...what sealer do you chaps recommend before french polishing a bare (stripped) piece of , say, mahogany...it takes forever to build up the polish on the stripped wood, and I've not had much joy with the sealer i bought - Rustins.
Do Fiddes, Morrells, Liberon or Mylands do something suitable?
What are your thoughts on using Danish oil as a sealer?
TIA
Dan

Any of the main trade sealers from the firms mentioned will brush on well. Two coats generally does it with a knocking back with 400 grade paper, then a wipe off with a rag damp with meths to clean up.

Then your ready to fad up for a couple of hours. Let it rest overnight, the knock back again with some old paper or fresh with a splash of mineral oil to soften the cut.

Now your ready to rubber on and then spirit off.
