I don't know about the reference but Mr. Tarrent hosted plenty of "Millionaire" shows from Bwood studios.

But, yeah plenty of films made here in the past

On his Breakfast show, whenever anyone called in from Borehamwood or there was traffic problems in that area he would mimmick the Hollywood song, changing it to Borehamwood and then would say it was twinned with Hollywood. You had to be there

I called in after a meeting at Welwyn Garden City one day. Tilgear is a very strange shop. I'd identified a few odds and ends I wanted in the catalogue before going, so was able to ask for those, but its not really a place for browsing.

Standing at the counter asking for things that the guy then goes off upstairs to fetch one item at a time, felt a bit like being in a Two Ronnies sketch!

Haha really!! nice, I never was a big Capital Radio fan.

Well I'm about to have my first experience there tomorrow glad I've got a "few" things on my shopping list. The only thing I really need will be one of those nice 50" straight edge clamps so I can stop using 1.25" pine batons as a fence for my router/circular saw. I need it for the weekend otherwise I would have mail ordered. B&Q want £30 for their one!!!

Well, I'm thinking of buying some of their disposable brushes with the wooden handles... :roll: I've always used the Axminster ones until now but, either the quality of those has gone downhill a bit or I'm doing something different - I used to be able to reuse them several times; one brush used to last two-years! Now though, the bristles tend to detach themselves as I cleaning one. :x

Bought too much, there goes the monthly budget!!! turning into an expensive but very enjoyable hobby this!!

You're right about it not being a very browsable shop, most of the stuff is behind closed doors. The guy that served me was extremely helpful though and took my list after discussing it away returning a few minutes later while I read one of the wood mags on the shelf. I am chuffed to bits with my purchases though! I get to try them out tomorrow. Next month I might even be able to afford some nice hardwood to play with
