Found this behind a door hinge...

I’m replacing the hollow core doors in our house with raised panel ones I’m building. The house is 1930s, but someone replaced all the period doors with the above. #-o =D>

I had to take the hinge off at the frame because of how stuck they were on the door side, and found the artifact in the image below.
It’s the front of a cigarette box, presumably used for packing the hinge. No idea of brand as I’m not a smoker, but I’d be interested if anyone knows the brand and likely age of this particular box.
Thought it was interesting While the original doors were replaced, this might be the first time the actual hinges have been off the frame (the frame is original).

Any idea on the age? Guess it’ll be hard to tell...

I'd take a stab at 1930s or 40s.. It could have come from one of the packing boxes that were just cardboard.

it's probably late 60s early 70s. That is the very brand my mother smoked and the packaging went on until the mid 70s and consisdering the type of doors you are removing makes that period most likely

My mother chain smoked the innocuous sounding Players Mild

Mild they weren't and sadly it killed her in 1969
