As for sharpening Forstner bits, I have a pocket DMT diamond whet stone that I bought from Axminster Power Tools about 18 or so years back. It may seem a bit steep, but they are the best in my humble opinion. It gets a fair amount of use and it still works!
I sharpen mine with a diamond hone. Interestingly, I find with some new ones they aren't as sharp as they could be so it's worth sharpening them even if new if you have any doubts as to how they are cutting.
