A lot of these types of sites seem like they're more of a collection of thoughts by the publishers than they are necessarily something to use practically (in the context of finding a good working plane).
Fitting that it's compiled by an attorney. In the states, they seem to be compiled by dealers (who would be more interested in precise specification to avoid returns) or white collar enthusiasts.
I've found a lot of good planes that the sites would say are undesirable, and a lot of worn out or warped planes from the "desirable" eras.
From a historical perspective, it is interesting to read some of them, though, especially when you can read the work of the marketing department and compare prices to typical earnings as of the catalog dates. Entirely different thing than practical working on projects, though.
