I bought this nearly a year ago from a forum member. It was intended for the old workshop but now I have a bit more room and cash i'm going to go for a larger model. It is in fantastic condition and gets awesome reviews across the web and on this forum. I have a spare set of knives included. These are going in the region of £250 on ebay. Obviously it'd be easier for it to be picked up, but I am happy if you want to arrange delivery.

Open to offers.

If you can cope with a sofa bed in the front room why not?

Plenty of room in the garden for tent.

hehe nice idea Andy but I won't be going anywhere for a couple of months at least.

If you really do want it then I don't mind hanging on to it until the next time your over.

It would not be fair for you to hang until my next visit to UK, likely to be be next Xmas.

Hi Wizer - bad timing. I've just spanked out on a new Makita 2012 - it was a toss up between that and the DW733. Otherwise I would have had it off you.

Cheers

Does either the Makita or the DW have an induction motor?

I've been using my benchtop thicknesser all afternoon and even with ear defenders on the motor is really noisy and I'm wondering about changing it for a quieter one.

I've never heard of an induction motored thicknesser of the portable variety - I guess you need to get up to the proper workshp level like the big JET level before you get that - that's one of the things you lose with the absence of the 'economies of scale' tat come with combined machines.

The Makita has an induction motor - 83db - class leader apparently.

EDIT - the Makita is not an induction motor - but it is 83db. Sorry

The noise was the number one reason for me selling the dewalt benchtop thicknesser. So annoying, I now have the Jet floor standing cast iron bed one and it's like music to your ears.

cheers,
jonathan.
