I'm selling my lathe the AWVSL1000 - I bought it new from Axminster last October and I've used it a grand total of four times - didn't really get into turning and probably won't get round to learning how to stop the chisel flying out of my hand and flying across the 'shop.. Very good condition with such little use as you can imagine. I'll add a photo later but I'll include the link to the Axminster site for details:

I'm looking for £185 - I think that's a fair price with such light use. Buyer to collect from outside Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and it's a heavy beast - can't help you lift it as I've just injured my back on tuesday so you'll need a spare pair of hands.

PM if you're interested.

Open to sensible offers before off to the auction site.

Why not keep it , find your local turning club

have a bit of basic tuition

and end up making lovely items you will be proud of , like we all do on here 8)

its not rocket science

If my workshop rebuild was completed I would invite you round for a day

May be a forum member on here willing to do the same

Please don't give up you WILL get the hang of it after some basic do's and dont's

Thanks - I've had a kind invite from JPT for a lesson but I don't get chance to use the lathe. I did have a couple of lessons at the start but as my workshop is going into mothballs when we sell, I'm going to sell a few pieces off. Tried woodturning, but not for me really. I'm expanding some other hobbies, and with a seven month old I'm getting less and less time in the 'shop so I'm going to sell the bits I never use. I hardly get time to do anything 'shop related anymore. Maybe when we get back to Somerset and have family nearby to help with childcare it might be different.
